The mission of the University School Capstone Project is to provide a real world internship experience for graduating seniors. Projects are closely linked to the student’s interests and provide great exposure to areas they plan to pursue in college. Disciplines such as business, medicine, law, psychology, and education come to life for students who could otherwise only imagine what awaits them in the career world.  Many students use this experience as a launching pad for future college internships.

Requirements

  • Projects can be oriented toward service, creativity, career exploration, or academic research
  • A full project of two half days per week for five weeks is strongly recommended, however abbreviated projects can be approved for students with academically challenging schedules
  • Projects require meeting with chief consultant, proposal for project, meeting with sponsor, weekly time sheets, daily log with weekly reflections, self evaluation, and exhibition of project materials
  • Eligibility requires passing grades in all classes, good standing academically and behaviorally, and good attendance in all classes and advisory
