At University School, College Counseling is an important part of the educational experience. Our goal is to help students and families make the right college choice decisions based on their interests and goals. The College Counselors meet and develop a relationship with each student and family, providing practical and emotional support during the college search, application, and decision process.
As liaisons between University School and college admissions officers, our counselors communicate college admission trends and developments and provide timely information about the admission process. They provide admissions officers with documentation of student records and recommendations for acceptance, as well as advocate for students when appropriate.
University School College Counselors travel on an ongoing basis to a large and diverse number of colleges and universities and participate in local, state, and national professional organizations and conferences to remain well-informed about new programs and facilities.
Please explore this website for the various opportunities our College Counseling Office provides throughout the year to educate our students and parents about the college process. For example, each year over 100 admission counselors from colleges and universities around the country visit University School to meet directly with students. Additionally, University School hosts a panel of college admission directors to discuss current trends and admissions topics with students and their parents and sponsors the University School College Fair.
