Emergency Procedures

BlackBoard Connect Emergency Notification System

Lightning warnings are issued when there has been cloud-to-ground lightning detected within six miles of our campus. When the school receives a lightning warning alert, students are kept inside the buildings until the warning is lifted. In the event that a lightning warning occurs during dismissal, parents will receive a phone call via our BlackBoard Connect Emergency Notification System. Your caller id will display 954-262-4449. If you answer the phone, please be sure to say "Hello.” The technology must hear a voice to deliver the message. Once the message is played, you may press the number one key to replay the message. If you do not pick up the phone, BlackBoard Connect will leave a message on an answering machine or voicemail.

In the event of an emergency, keeping you informed is a top priority at NSU University School. That is why we have adopted the BlackBoard Connect Emergency Notification System which allows us to send you a telephone and/or email message providing important information related to school closings or updates.  If a call is being placed, be sure to say "Hello" when you answer the phone. The technology must hear a voice to deliver the message.  Once the message is played, you may press the number one key to replay the message. If you do not pick up the phone, BlackBoard Connect Emergency Notification System will leave a message on any answering machine or voicemail.
