Lower School Admission (Grades Pre-K to 5)

  1. Please print, complete, and return the application for admission with the $100 application fee made payable to University School. If you wish to pay by credit card, please use the credit card authorization form.
  2. After January 1st, have your child's teacher complete and send the appropriate recommendation form(s). Additionally, please submit the release of records form to your child's school so that the registrar may forward copies of school records:

  3. Following receipt of the application and fee, we will contact you to schedule the school admissions test. All testing is administered at University School.

Middle/Upper School Admission (Grades 6 to 12)

  1. Please complete, print, and return the application for admission with the $100 nonrefundable application fee made payable to University School. If you wish to pay by credit card, please use the credit card authorization form.
  2. All students applying for grades 6-12 will take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT). Please log on to www.ssat.org/flex to register for the test. Enter the testing date (July 11) and the location (University School of NSU). You must indicate that you want University School to receive your scores by including our school code 7857. Check in for the July 11th SSAT flex test will begin at 8:45am and testing will start at 9am. Please note: Only University School applicants are eligible to register for the July 11th flex test. Please be sure to submit an application before registering.
  3. Submit the Permission to Release Records for Admission into Grades 6-12 to your child’s school no earlier than the end of the first quarter so the registrar may forward copies of school records including the first quarter grades.
  4. Have your child’s current teachers complete and mail/fax the recommendation forms no earlier than the end of the first quarter.Please note that all recommendations are confidential and should be returned directly from the school to University School Office of Admissions.

  5. Following receipt of the application and fee, University School will contact you, via email, to schedule a personal interview. Students must complete the Applicant Questionnaire, Grades 6-12 prior to the personal interview.

Learning and Research Academy Admission (Grades K to 4)

The Learning and Research Academy at University School seeks to accept students of average to above average intelligence who are experiencing learning difficulties in traditional school settings due to mild to moderate learning disabilities and language based disorders. Admission to the academy will be limited to students who can best achieve success in a nontraditional program geared to helping students develop academic skills, improve social interactions, and increase self image and independence.

  1. Please print, complete and return the application for admission with the $100 application fee made payable to University School. If you wish to pay by credit card, please use the credit card authorization form.
  2. After January 1st , submit the release of records form to your child's school so that the registrar may forward copies of school records.
  3. Following receipt of the application and fee, we will contact you to request the following:
    • Psychological testing
    • Language testing and/or full scale IQ
    • Written recommendations from a psychologist
    • Previous school records and recommendations
    • A school visit and evaluation
    • Parent interview
    • All testing is administered at University School
