SWAT - This club is comprised of students who wish to advance the technology program at the school. These students have the opportunity to advance their level of technical skills while also assisting other students, teachers and administration with any computer issues they may have. Students learn everything from html coding and web design, to upgrading software programs and laser technology. The Swat course is a fee based aftercare program.
National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)
Students
are eligible to become members at the end of 7th grade and in the 8th
grade based on meeting the club requirements. These include scholarship
(a 93% GPA), service, leadership, and citizenship activities.
Builders’ Club
The Builders’ club is a community service based organization run
by middle school students. The goal of the club is to teach students the
value of community involvement.
Love Jen Middle School Club
The Love Jen Middle School Club devotes its efforts toward projects
that raise money and enhance life for children dealing with cancer at
Joe DiMaggio Children's hospital and Gilda's Club.
Art
The Art Club is designed to introduce students to paintings created
by famous artists. Chosen paintings are drawn on ceiling tiles then
painted weekly to be permanently displayed in the classroom. Each student
then signs the tiles they work on.
Student Government
The Middle School Government is an organization that allows Middle
School Students to become active in the school community. This group
of students is responsible for organizing school dances, supporting
charity events such as Love Jen, as well as helping with other fund
raising drives. The members of student government are also responsible
for being the voice of the Middle School.
Junior Thespians
Junior Thespians work on acting, musical, and technical skills to
prepare for district and state tournaments.
ICare-ICure
The ICare-ICure Service Club was founded in the spring of 2007 with the
mission of providing students an opportunity for direct, hands-on-service in
the community. The goal is to teach students the value of giving at an
early age so that it becomes a life-long habit. Money raised from
fundraising, a secondary goal of the club, goes to the ICare-ICure
Foundation which funds research for targeted cures in pediatric oncology.
