Meet the Staff

 

Mrs. Sherry Hindelang Mrs. Sherry Hindelang is very excited to be joining the Kindergarten team this year as team leader. This is her sixth year at University School and has over 14 years of experience in the field of education. Sherry earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas and a Master’s degree in Primary and Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University. She understands the importance of providing a nurturing and differentiated learning environment in which all children can learn and thrive. She is looking forward to a wonderful year working with you and your children.
Keren Pasternak Mrs. Keren Pasternak is thrilled to be part of the kindergarten team. It is Keren’s seventh year of teaching. Keren earned her undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies at San Francisco State University and then completed the Elementary Education program at San Diego State University. She taught Kindergarten and First Grade for five years in the San Francisco Bay Area public school system before moving to Florida, where she taught in Broward County. Keren developed the Early Childhood Writer’s Workshop program in her previous school, which taught children how to express their ideas and thoughts in writing. She is extremely excited to share her love of reading and writing with children in our Kindergarten.
Mrs. Bonnie Reiter Mrs. Bonnie Reiter is returning for her 13th year here at the University School and is delighted to be moving from the Second Grade team to the Kindergarten team. She holds both Elementary and Primary Education degrees and has Master’s Degrees in Elementary Education, all from Nova Southeastern University. Bonnie has certification in Character Education from the University of San Diego’s International Center for Character Education and presently serves as our Character Education Coordinator. She believes in the development of the whole child – socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. 
Joele Amster

Mrs. Joele Amster earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Barry University. She brings seven years of teaching experience to University School and has a strong background in teaching young children reading and writing skills. She plans to earn a Master’s degree in Reading in the near future. We welcome Joele to the Lower School.

Lisa Tabatchnick

Lisa Tabatchnick graduated from Boston University with a BA in sales and marketing. She has been a part of the Nova Southeastern University family for 8 1/2 years, where she was a Family Center parent/child teacher and then a teacher's assistant for grades Pre-K and Kindergarten. She is currently working towards a master's Degree at Nova Southeastern University in the field of Pre-k/Primary Education.
