Ms. Carolyn Barnes, the Fifth Grade Team Leader, has been in education for the past thirteen years, both in her native country of Trinidad and here at University School. She holds a B.S. in elementary education and a M.S. in special education. Carolyn firmly believes it is important to utilize her martial arts training and life experiences to positively influence the holistic development of every child she interacts with to secure a brighter tomorrow. |

Mrs. Melinda Bolinger has been teaching for nine years, and this is her fifth year with the Fifth Grade Team at University School. She received a B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Florida and a Masters of Teaching and Learning from Nova Southeastern University. Melinda has a strong interest in integrating technology into the classroom and is committed to fostering a love of learning in her students. |

Mrs. Claudia Rothstein has been teaching for twelve years. She is beginning her third year at University School. She has a B.A. in criminal justice from the University of Florida and is also finishing her Masters of teaching and learning degree at NSU this fall. |

Mrs. Donna Sontag is beginning her second year in Fifth Grade at University School after teaching in second grade for ten years. She has a B.S. in elementary education and a M.S. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology from Nova Southeastern University. |

Mrs. Randi Mehlman graduated from University School and is excited to return as a member of the Fifth Grade team. This is her eighth year in the classroom as she has taught at both the elementary and middle school levels at Jacobson Sinai Academy, as well as second grade in the Broward County School system. Mrs. Mehlman holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Miami in Criminology and is working on her Master’s Degree in School Administration and Leadership. She is looking forward to an outstanding year! |
