Meet the Staff

Mrs. Cory DeLaFuente is enjoying her sixth year at University School. She has been in the field of education for eleven years, including two at the Baudhuin School. Cory is originally from Long Island, New York. She attended the California Institute of the Arts and Adelphi University where she received her Bachelors Degree in psychology. She has also earned her Masters of Elementary Education at Nova Southeastern University. |

Mrs. Karen Dubin (aka Dubie) is currently in her 28th year at University School. Her first ten years were spent in Learning Resource, followed by 13 years as Fourth Grade's team leader. Karen has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hofstra University in Elementary Education and History, and a Masters Degree in Education from Adelphi University. She then taught in New York for five years. Karen is thrilled to be on the second grade team this year. She can't think of anything she'd rather do than teach at University School. |

Mrs. Kelly Puglisi holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching and Learning from Nova Southeastern University. She is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Economics, and she also studied at Florida Atlantic University, specializing in Elementary Education. Kelly specializes in curriculum and instruction, and she has implemented many successful opportunities for children to access their learning strengths. |

Mrs. Beth Spier is beginning her second year at University School but has been teaching for the past 11 years. She received her undergraduate degree from American University in D.C. in print journalism and has a Master's degree from AU in Education. Prior to working at University School, she taught at The Hillel Community Day School in North Miami Beach. Beth has also worked at The Lab School of Washington in D.C. teaching children ages 6 to 12. |

Joanie Silverman is excited to be a part of the Second Grade team at University School. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Rutgers University, a Masters from NSU, and is presently completing post graduate courses in the field of education. She has been a faculty member for the last two years, and is the parent of two University School students. |
