“Sichler Takes Home District Championship”
Senior Megan Sichler won her third consecutive District Championship this past Friday afternoon at Archbishop McCarthy High School. Sichler, who has twice broken the school record this season (115 feet, seven inches) throw of 112 feet, seven inches was six feet better than her closest opponent. She will now compete in the Regional Championships this Friday, April 18th. The Championships will be held at Belen Jesuit School.

“Sichler, Azan Have Record-Setting Day”
Megan Sichler and David Azan had record-setting days last Friday afternoon at the Westminster Iniviational held at Westminster Academy’s West Campus. Sichler managed to break her own previous record of 110 feet, two inches in the discus by four feet, five inches, setting a new record of 115 feet, seven inches. Azan, a sophomore, tied the school record in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.8 seconds. In other events, the 4x400 meter relay team, comprised of Azan, Taylor James, Dinesh McCoy, and Justin Eaddy, earned four points towards their team total as they finished with a time of 3:45.07. Sichler’s first place discus finish (10 points) as well as a strong five-point performance in the shot put (a throw of 30 feet, three inches) earned the team a total of 15 points. Sichler and Azan look to break old records again when they compete over Spring Break.
