The strings (orchestral) program is offered as part of the curriculum in the Middle and Upper School.  A beginning strings class is offered to students who have no previous or limited experience.  The focus is on establishing proper playing techniques through group and individual instruction.  Students learn and develop reading music notation, basic music theory, sight-reading, and ear training.  The advanced String Ensemble consists of experienced players who have a strong background in playing techniques.  The focus will be on rehearsing and performing literature from various time periods, styles, and genres.  Sight-reading, music theory, and ear training will be emphasized and further developed at more advanced levels.
