Students' Artwork Selected for National Exhibitions

Two national award winning works by University School students will not be coming home for another year. "Lights Will Guide You," a digital art piece that earned freshman Peri Shechtman a 2013 National Scholastic Art American Vision Award, will be displayed at the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities main office. "You Can't Escape the Truth," a painting that earned a 2013 National Scholastic Gold Key for junior Sydney Fleisher will be part of The U.S. Department of Education's Student Art Exhibit. A total of 58 works were selected for special one-year exhibitions in Washington D.C.

In the video that follows, the University School students discuss their pieces and myriad ways that art can lend a "voice".
